| ~ Freddy Krueger accepting the Dream Demons' offer. |
The Dream Demons are the overarching antagonists of the A Nightmare On Elm Street franchise.
They are a trio of entities who seek to break the barriers between the Dream World and the real world and do so by seeking out the evilest humans they can find.
Their Evil Ranking[]
What Makes Them Close to Being Pure Evil?[]
- Seek out the most heinous humans they can find to help them break the barrier between the Dream World and real world to spread chaos.
- Turned Freddy Kruger into a dream demon the day he was killed by the parents of Springwood. As a result of this, they are indirectly responsible for all of the crimes he committed as a dream demon such as murdering almost the entirety of the teens/kids of Springwood and resurrecting Jason Voorhees.
- While they were released from Freddy when he died in Final Nightmare, they werenāt killed themselves. Additionally, due to Freddy coming back in FvJ, itās implied that they eventually came back to him, meaning they ultimately got away with their crimes.
- In Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash: The Nightmare Warriors, they were angered by Freddy not sharing the power that he got from the Necronomicon with them, so they turned on him and weakened him enough to be killed by Ash.
What Prevents Them from Being Pure Evil?[]
- They lack characterization as their screentime is short and their motives arenāt explored in detail, however this is only a minor prevention as they are shown to have a sadistic personality as evidence by them letting out evil laughter during some of their scenes, most notably when Maggie went through Freddyās memories.
Trivia[]
- The Dream Demons are the only villains in the A Nightmare on Elm Street franchise to be Near Pure Evil.
- An unused ending for Freddy's Dead would have showed the Dream Demons approaching an abused child and encouraging him to act out violently, revealing that they do not just empower evil people, they also groom them to become evil, with it being implied that they did so with Freddy. Had this scene been kept, they would have been even worse and could have qualified as Pure Evil.
