Dream is the titular main antagonist of the Minecraft web series Dream SMP.
He serves as one of the two main antagonists (alongside Jschlatt) of Season 1, the main antagonist of Seasons 2 and 4, and one of the three overarching antagonists (alongside the Egg and Jschlatt) of Season 3.
He is the founder of the Dream SMP server and the leader of the faction group of the same name. Dream brands himself a peaceful individual, when in reality he is a heartless, extremely arrogant, and manipulative tyrant who has committed numerous acts against many people in the SMP, such as instigating the Dream SMP Vs. L'Manberg War and the Disc Saga and has gone to numerous extreme measures to ensure his rule over his own server, his noble intentions slowly becoming more corrupt and self-serving over time.
After the events of the rebellion against Manberg and Tommy's numerous antics, Dream became more and more unhinged and obsessive, going to even more torturous and downright manipulative tactics to try and keep TommyInnit from further damaging his reputation as a leader and his control over the server, starting off by exiling him and continuing to manipulate L'Manberg's political landscape to his advantage. His narcissism and compulsive desire for total authority would lead to his eventual temporary (and somewhat staged) downfall and imprisonment, although he would still carry a vast array of tricks up his sleeve as he continued to scheme up until his breakout.
With an arsenal of manipulation tactics, a feared reputation as one of the most powerful players on the server, for being known to have a method of resurrecting people, Dream is now the most dangerous and most hated player in the entire server due to his heinous nature and a true force to be reckoned with among those who are aware of his true nature. He is the archenemy of TommyInnit, Tubbo and Wilbur Soot.

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]
- He stole two of TommyInnit's discs and threatens to burn them unless TommyInnit returns his stolen items.
- He kept TommyInnit's discs when TommyInnit refuses to apologize during a Discord call.
- He hunted both Sapnap and TommyInnit to retrieve the stolen discs, repeatedly killing them.
- He called Tubbo to help kill Sapnap and TommyInnit with Iron Axes, dealing effective damage to them.
- He used Gravel to hunt down TommyInnit and Sapnap, slaying them after he chipped down their health.
- He went on a rage-fueled rampage, grieving TommyInnit's house, rampaging across his property, and bed-trapping him.
- He attempted to get TommyInnit back onto the Dream SMP.
- He presumably ordered Alyssa to burn down a forest.
- He, alongside Sapnap and Punz, kidnapped Tubbo and holds him hostage.
- He killed Tubbo and Tommy in a pit, claiming their items.
- He burned down TommyInnit's house.
- He and his army entered the server, leading to another death of Tubbo and the burning of TommyInnit's potions.

- While it's shown in the final scene that after the world resets when he meets TommyInnit and wants to be his friend happens because everyone forgets what happened in the previous server except The Syndicate who escaped to the end before Tubbo's nuke destroys everything, this isn't a real redemption since he never has a chance to repent and make up for his crimes.
What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]
- He's a well-intentioned extremist and tragic as just wants the server to be peaceful and without conflict so he can have fun with his friends, causing him to begin his spiral into madness. The conflict was originally started by Tommyinnit breaking simple rules and wanting to create a nation separate from the greater Dream SMP. The fact that people were still divided after Dream was thrown in prison and continued to create more nations proves that Dream wasn't solely the sole blame for all server problems.
- However, this is a minor prevention, as he still kickstarted the major conflicts of the server by using extreme ways. He tries to make Tommyinnit commit suicide after his exile has gone too far. Tommy is also not even 18 years old at the time that the conflict started so Dream shouldn't hold too much grudge for teenagers and could've handle the situation better. Dream is also power hungry, so his goal isn't completely noble. He was also willing to hurt his friends just to go back to the "old times".
- He seems to have genuine respect for Technoblade. Both share a lot of agreement especially that the server shouldn't have government. He also honors his deal with Technoblade by returning all of the gear he borrowed during the prison escape and doesn't go after The Syndicate afterward until the end of the story.
- His death is played for sympathy, with TommyInnit realizing that he had Dream wrong, and him realizing that he simply wanted things to go back to being simple again, that his subsequent death to Tubbo's nuke is treated as a tragedy, with TommyInnit even apologizing for having this happen as he did not understand that Dream was hurting just as much as him.
Trivia[]
- While the "I went on Date with Dream" and "I married Dream" videos made by Fundy are based on the Dream SMP lore, both of them aren't canon to the story. Therefore, Dream isn't in love with Fundy and George, so these can't be counted as preventions.
