Are you afraid? Do you feel, Weapon X? This is for my father.
~ Dr. Zander Rice

Dr. Zander Rice is the main antagonist of the 2005 X-Men miniseries, X-23: Innocence Lost.

He is the son of Dale Rice and one of the head scientists working on the X-23 project.

His Evil Ranking[]

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]

  • He tortured Laura Kinney for years, doing horrible experiments on her and psychologically and physically abusing her so he could create a human weapon.
  • In order to awaken her healing factor, Rice subjected Laura to doses of radiation poisoning, which nearly killed her.
  • He painfully extracted all of Laura Kinney’s natural claws one by one and then re-implants them after lacing them with adamantium and he did this without anesthesia.
  • He laced Laura’s entire skeleton with adamantium.
  • He made Laura kill her kind-hearted sensei by using a hypnotic trigger serum.
  • He had Laura kill plenty of people throughout the years and then, during a mission, he leaves Laura to die.
  • After Dr. Stutter gave him control over the X-23 project. Zander then orders Laura to kill him and his family, despite Stutter raising him after his father’s death and Henry being his biological son. While Henry was spared, Stutter and Rachel were killed.
  • He gave Laura trigger serum so that she would kill her own mother, in which she does after Zander is killed.

What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]

  • He truly cared for his father, being devastated when he died and wanted to avenge him.
