His Evil Ranking[]

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]

  • He broke into the Edge City Bank, although his attempted robbery was thwarted by Stanley.
  • He was neglectful and emotionally abusive towards Tina Carlyle while they dated, using her as a trophy girlfriend and as a mole in his criminal activities.
  • He forced the reporter Peggy Brandt to capture Stanley and lied about not actually wanting to hurt him.
  • In a deleted scene, he killed Peggy by throwing her into a newspaper machine immediately after gaining the powers of the Mask of Loki.
  • He stole the mask from Stanley and framed him for being the Mask's wearer.
  • He killed his boss Niko and several of his thugs out of revenge.
  • He attempted to blow up the Coco Bongo nightclub and everyone in it.
  • He eventually betrayed Tina and tried to kill her by trapping her in the club, planning to leave her tied up to die in the explosion.
  • While The Mask is mostly a comedy film, he isn't played for laughs and tends to darken the mood whenever he appears.

What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]

  • He genuinely cared about his right-hand man, "Doctor" Freeze and was enraged by his death. This is mostly because he was useful to him, but he still showed genuine affection to Freeze before he died by offering him a cigarette.
