You'd feel intense guilt for what you've done... Killing innocent children just so you can live! You'd have to fight me, Versus, with that heavy weight on your shoulder... Would anyone like that have the strength left to fight?
~ Donatello Versus gives Jolyne Cujoh a sadistic choice.
I can't die here! I have a right to be happy!
~ Donatello Versus

Donatello Versus is one of the two secondary antagonists (alongside Sports Maxx) of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part VI: Stone Ocean.

He is one of DIO's illegitimate sons, conceived with Jonathan Joestar's stolen body, along with Giorno Giovanna, Ungalo, and Rikiel. Donatello works as one of Enrico Pucci's minions and wields the Stand Under World. He is the last enemy stand user that Jolyne's group faces before the final battle in Cape Canaveral.

He is voiced by Takanori Hoshino and by Isaac Robinson-Smith in the English dub.

His Evil Ranking[]

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]

  • Despite being Pucci's minion, he has no loyalty to him, even ordering him to call him with a respectful tone.
  • When he was testing the powers of his newfound Stand in the hospital, he unearthed the memory of a dead child and indirectly had it kill his own father (Though he deserved it since the man shot and killed his own son).
  • Despite the fact that Jolyne Cujoh is his great-great-great niece, he holds no care for her even though they are family (although he also may not have known that they were related).
  • He lured Ermes Costello and Jolyne into a trap with a memory of Sports Maxx, trapping them into a commercial plane headed for destruction.
  • He had Jolyne and Ermes thrown into a plane crash set for destruction in order to kill them, while also reenacting the massacre in the process.
  • To stop Jolyne from surviving the plane crash, he threw three children into the Memory, in order to force Jolyne and Ermes to Choose to sacrifice themselves or the kids, which the latter will have the two lose their will to fight.
  • When Pucci asked whether he felt guilty for his actions, he hypocritically blamed Jolyne for putting the children in danger, which even made Pucci to feel disgust at him.
  • After Jolyne And Ermes escapes the plane, He betrays Pucci and throws Weather Report's Memory disc, making his uncontrollable powers to start a snail pandemic.
    • While he didn't know exactly what Heavy Weather's ability is, he was still fully aware that the hidden ability would be highly dangerous and uncontrollable. He did it anyway, and showed absolutely zero remorse after that.
  • He chased down Emporio, who is a child, after figuring out who he was using underworld, attacking him and knocking him unconscious. After, he would take Emporio hostage when Jolyne and Ermes comes to apprehend him.
  • After discovering that Jolyne is partially a snail, he tried to torture her with a memory of the ocean salt, before fleeing from the scene with the DISC, only to the defeated when Jolyne had to sacrifice Emporio's body to be infected so Donatello can be infected and incapacitated.
  • Although he did agree to drive for Jolyne and Ermes, it was out of cowardice after he was defeated.
  • Although he was accidently killed by Narciso Anasui (who mistook him for Pucci), he deserved it for all that he's done.
  • Unlike his brothers, Donatello lacks the redeeming qualities, such as not having Ungalo's loyalty towards Pucci and Rikiel's honor towards enemies and not to mention Giorno's actions.
    • He also lacks the mannerisms of his father Jonathan Joestar, and has fully embraced the evilness of his other father, DIO.
    • Like DIO, he has a few hammy, over-the-top lines that may be seen as comedic moments, such as yelling "I WIN!" upon briefly acquiring Jotaro's disc, but they just show how much of a selfish prick he is.
  • Unlike Pucci, who is genuinely well intentioned, Donatello plans to overthrow Pucci and use his goals for power.
  • Although the JoJo franchise has a rather high Heinous Standard, Donatello's action of putting three sick children in the situation of only two can live, as well as giving the heroes a sadistic choice is unique in the series. Not only that, he also responsible for the painful mass snail transformation which caused a small town to be experienced a brutal transformation.

What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]

  • He has a somewhat tragic backstory due to being neglected by his parents in favoring his two sisters, falsely accused of theft and sentenced to prison at a young age, with the poor treatment he received there turning him into what he is now and serving as the reason as to why he's so desperate to find happiness.
  • Despite not being above hurting children out of sheer pettiness, he showed genuine concern for the poor boy who was shot to death by his abusive father.

Trivia[]

  • He and his brother, Ungalo, are the only members of the Joestar Bloodline to be NPE.
