Peter B. Parker/Spider-Man: Can I assume that your friends call you Doc Ock?
Doctor Octopus: My friends actually call me Liv, my
enemies call me Doc Ock.
~ Doctor Octopus to Peter B. Parker/Spider-Man.
There’s three actually. No, this is good, this is very, very good; this means you get what you want, it means my collider works. All we have to do is kill a couple of spiders and the collider will bring your family back; as many families as you want.
~ Doctor Octopus convincing Kingpin to aid in the Collider's building.

Dr. Olivia Octavius, also known as Doctor Octopus, is the secondary antagonist of Sony Pictures Animation's 22nd full-length animated feature film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, the first installment of their Spider-Verse film trilogy.

She is the CEO of Alchemax and works for the Kingpin, intending to help him use the Super Collider to bring back alternate versions of his deceased wife and son.

She was voiced by Kathryn Hahn.

Her Evil Ranking[]

What Makes Her Close to Being Pure Evil?[]

  • She created the Super Collider to use to bring alternate versions of the Kingpin's family to her own dimension, and while she did warn him that using it could destroy multiple universes, after Kingpin said he still wanted to go through with it, she didn't try to stop him and even tried to help him activate it.
  • She tried to kill Peter B. Parker/Spider-Man by suffocating him before trying to kill Miles to get the data that they stole at Alchemax to create a flash drive to stop the collider.
    • Before she revealed her supervillain alias to him, she expressed enjoyment at the thought of seeing him be erased from existence as a result of not being in his home dimension.
  • She nearly choked Tombstone to death when he pulled out his guns to shoot her while also making Kingpin say yes to using the collider despite the danger it poses by claiming it would give him as many families as he would like, even though she knows they won't survive outside their dimension for long.
  • She tried to kill the Spider-Gang and May Parker at her house.
  • She ran the Super Collider while Kingpin used a memorial for their reality’s Spider-Man as a cover-up.
  • She tried to kill Peter/Spider-Man and Miles/Spider-Man when they tried stopping the Super Collider.
  • She tried to kill Peter/Spider-Man, Miles/Spider-Man, and Gwen/Spider-Woman before being hit by a truck.
  • Despite helping Kingpin, she only does it to further her own goals and not out of care for him.
  • Her actions of helping Kingpin activate the Collider resulted in a jar of dark matter to permanently close over Johnathon Ohnn's skin when the Collider was destroyed and allow him to generate portals throughout his body, turning him into the multiversal threat known as the Spot.

What Prevents Her from Being Pure Evil?[]

  • She fails the heinous standards to Kingpin, as her crimes are done under his orders. While her contributions to the Collider played a major role in his attempt at multiversal destruction, this is ultimately shared with all her fellow scientists like Johnathon Ohnn, who also contributed to its construction, making her unable to stand out.

Trivia[]

  • She is one of two versions of Doctor Octopus to be Near Pure Evil, the other being Doctor Octopus from The Spectacular Spider-Man.
  • Doctor Octopus is the only Spider-Man Near Pure Evil villain to come from an animated film.
