I make dreams come true.
~ Diane Amara's catchphrase.
At Sycorax, we believe in progress at all costs.
~ Diane's famous line.

Diane "Di" Amara is the secondary antagonist of Big Hero 6: The Series, serving as a minor antagonist in Season 1, one of the two main antagonists (alongside Chief Cruz) of Season 2 and a mentioned antagonist in Season 3.

She is the founder and CEO of Sycorax, who attempted to revive her prototype, Liv Amara.

She was voiced by Mara Wilson.

Her Evil Ranking[]

What Makes Her Close to Being Pure Evil?[]

  • Turned Orso Nox into a monster so she could blackmail him into investing in her company.
  • She torturously turned Orso Nox, MomaKase, Mr. Sparkles, and Karmi into her monstrous pawns, causing massive destruction in San Fransokyo.
  • She releases and blackmails High Voltage into working for her. And when they fail their plan, she turns them into eels to be her pets.
  • Creates a Globby like villain named Nega-Globby. When Diane is unable to control it, she lets Nega-Globby go, indirectly causing massive destruction. Her creation of Nega-Globby also makes her indirectly responsible for the events of season 2b, as Nega-Globby’s actions would lead to Globby and Big Hero 6 being framed as criminals, causing them to become wanted criminals.
  • She stole Bessie from Nedd Ludd and turned it into a bear-like monster.
  • Creates a species of monsters called the Mayoi so she could stop them to draw suspicion away from herself.
  • She used Karmi and Chris to attack and kill Hiro and Baymax even though they managed to save Liv. She even tries to force Karmi to kill Hiro personally despite knowing of their friendship.
  • Her actions result in Karmi being forced to leave San Fransokyo, much to Hiro’s grief, and Karmi implicitly being traumatized due to being turned into a monster by someone she trusted and admired.
  • While she justifies her deeds by claiming she did them to save Liv, she was never shown to have considered taking a more ethical and less costly means to create a cure. She’s also shown to take sadistic pleasure in turning her victims into monsters and never showed remorse for her actions even after being called out by Liv.
  • Despite not being as destructive as Obake, who attempted to destroy San Fransokyo with lower resources, Di still manages to stand out due to forcibly transforming many innocent people into monsters and using them to attack and nearly kill their loved ones, making her evil acts much more personally vile by comparison.
  • In spite of her care for Liv and Chris, she’s easily the vilest and most personally loathsome villain in the series.

What Prevents Her from Being Pure Evil?[]

  • Diane's villainous purpose was only to revive the real Liv Amara, although the latter only wanted to be saved more simply. She refused to accept redemption, as she was grunting while being arrested.
  • She shows some minor care for her assistant Chris despite treating him more as a pet.
  • She suffers from moral agency issues, as Liv didn't program her with any morals or ethics. This is most likely why she couldn't understand why Liv disapproved of her methods to save her.

Trivia[]

  • She, along with Trina, are the only Big Hero 6 villains to be Near Pure Evil.
  • Ironically, Mara Wilson also played the NPG Matilda Wormwood in her youth.
