You don't laugh at legends.
~ Danny trying to calm himself down after seeing parodies serial killers.
I hope you liked my stories - I enjoyed bringing them to life. Don't worry, I'm not done.
~ Danny Johnson's note to Roseville investigators
They all want to know who Ghost Face is. But what they should ask is: who is next?
~ The Ghost Face

Daniel "Danny" Johnson, also known as Jed Olsen and the Ghost Face, is one of the playable Killers in the 2016 video game Dead by Daylight.

Seemingly a charismatic journalist, he is in reality a sadistic and impulsive serial killer who murders people in order to achieve fame through his stories about the Roseville serial killings.

He is voiced by Filip Ivanovic, who also voices the Trapper in the same game.

His Evil Ranking[]

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]

  • He decided to become a serial killer just so he could satisfy his sadism and become famous by writing articles about the murders he committed.
  • He stalked people for days before eventually murdering them, with two people being confirmed to have died this way. He also loves prolonging his hunt of others to learn their habits and routines out of complete sadism.
  • He visited grieving family members for the sake of learning more possible victims as it is said 'his involvement only added to the final body count'.
  • He made a snuff film of him murdering three people with a knife while giving a thumbs up at the camera afterwards.
  • He also kills a man then takes a selfie with the body.
  • He loved the fact that the town was terrified of his murder stories he brought to life.
  • After the Roseville investigators found out the identity of the serial killer, he leaves a note where he makes it clear he'll continue killing.
  • He loves how depraved he is as he pins up newspaper articles and snuff pictures of his various crimes and takes immense pride in them. They also cover his entire room wallpaper, making it clear he has committed a lot of murders.
  • After being transported into the Entity's realm, he hunts and kills Survivors for the being that brought him there.
  • Unlike most KiIlers, he has no Freudian Excuse for his actions, doing it purely out of sadism, and due to his intelligence, he also possesses moral agency unlike a majority of killers.
  • He doesn't suffer from off screen villainy as his add-ons include parts of his backstory, such as a map of Roseville with X's on (The X's are people he has killed), he has many camera lens add-ons, which are meant for taking pictures of his victims, and also having cut out newspaper articles detailing murders from many states.
  • While his kill animation can be seen as humorous, with him taking a selfie with the Survivor he just killed, and him giving thumbs up and peace signs to the camera whenever he kills someone, it just further proves how depraved he really is.

What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]

  • While his acts are without a doubt despicable, he still fails the Heinous Standard to other villains, such as the Trickster, who was an auditory snuff filmer who used people's screams for his songs and loved causing as much suffering as possible towards others, and the Clown, who committed many atrocities such as killing many animals and humans, cutting off their fingers for a fetish and keeping people captive for a long time because he loved having peoples lives at his mercy while also being the only killer to confirmed to have killed children. They both have the same resources as Danny, yet end up doing more than he did.
