Cyrus is the main antagonist of the Pokémon games Pokémon Diamond & Pearl and Pokemon Platinum, and their remakes, Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.

His Evil Ranking[]

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]

  • He attempted to destroy the world and replace it.
  • He ordered Mars (and Charon in Platinum only) to take control over Valley Windworks.
  • Have Jupiter steal some Pokemon and bring them to Team Galactic Eterna Building.
  • Ordered one of his grunts to test the bomb in Great Marsh.
  • Ordered his commanders to capture the Lake Guardians, with Saturn bombing the entirety of Lake Valor, leaving hundreds of Magikarps suffocating.
  • He deceived his followers into fighting for another goal, telling them they would share power in the new world, then boasting to the player that he was lying and the new world is only for his benefit.
  • He had the Lake Guardians trapped in capsules with them still being alive, effectively locking them in a fate worse than death.
  • He used the Red Chains to summon Dialga and Palkia to force them to create the world but was interfered by Giratina who took the Team Galactic Boss to the Distortion World.
  • He is the first villain who contrasts every villain prior to him, as none of them attempted world destruction.

What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]

  • He has a Freudian Excuse of being left alone in his past with no friends, which portrays him in a sympathetic light as even the player feels bad for him.
    • His parents were emotionally abusive and neglectful, which caused Cyrus to become ambitious and overworking to compensate.
  • He is legitimately affable at points, for example gifting the player a Master Ball in Pokémon Diamond & Pearl, their remakes, and Pokémon Platinum, and in Pokémon: Ultra Sun and Moon keeping his promise not to harm the player character's world after being beaten.
  • He is a well-intentioned extremist as he wanted to end suffering and strife by recreating the world in his image, seeing human emotion as the cause of all strife in the world.
