Clayman is a major antagonist in the That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime series.
His Evil Ranking[]
What Makes Him Close To Being Pure Evil?[]
In General[]
- While he is created by Kagali, nothing suggests his moral agency is affected by it given similar characters had clear agencies.
- Although Feldway, Michael, Ivaragé, Milim Nava, Veldora Tempest, Guy Crimson and etc had done worse than him, he has far fewer resources and is far less powerful than them and stands out for his impact on the series plus stands out for his brainwashing been shown to be very painful.
That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime[]
- He would conspire with Milim Nava, Carrion, and Frey to create a puppet Demon Lord Seed to use where it would lead to Gelmud creating the Orc Lord making him responsible for the Orc Lord event.
- He would conspire with Yuuki Kagurazaka in return for helping Kagali to be revived at some point before the series start.
- He would have Footman and Tear try to revive Charybdis where the two would trick Phobio into being the host of the Ruler of Skies.
- He would manipulate the Nation of Falmuth where it would lead to Edmaris Falmuth to attempt to subjugate the Jura-Tempest Federation where he would be responsible for the following events:
- He would force Mjurran to block out communication in Rimuru City preventing everyone from contracting their leader leading to 100+ dead including Shion and Gobozo in the first attack.
- This would force Rimuru Tempest to wipe out Falmuth's Army of 20,000 to prevent his nation from being slaughtered and revive those wrongfully killed. This makes Clayman indirectly responsible for it.
- He would attempt to host Waplurgus to have Rimuru Tempest be killed by framing him to no anvil.
- While his defeat by Shion and later by Rimuru Tempest was brutal it was later played for karma for his actions.
What Prevents Him From Being Pure Evil?[]
- He has minor moral agency issues due to being influenced by Tatsuya Kondou but however given he shown to still strategize and make clear decision without too much issues it makes it a Minor Prevention since he was already evil before the brainwashing so it don't make him a Villain by Proxy and still have enough free will to not be too impaired.
- He cares for several people such as Footman, Tear, Laplace, and Kagali especially when he tried to revive the latter back to life. He is genuinely affable to them.
- He shown to be honorable as when he was at Rimuru Tempest's mercy, he never sold out Yuuki Kagurazaka despite being threatened.
Trivia[]
- His titular Clayman Revenge counterpart does not count as that version has more redeeming qualities than this one.
- He alongside Cliché, Mariabell Rosso and Feldway are so far the only That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Near Pure Evils as Gelmud and Jahil are Pure Evils while everyone else who pass the heinous standards are Inconsistently Heinous.
