Claus Hugo Strandberg is a supporting antagonist in HITMAN, appearing as one of the two targets (alongside Reza Zaydan) of its third mission "A Gilded Cage". He is a Swedish businessman-turned-con-artist, helping to cause a civil war in Morocco.

He was voiced by Patrick O'Connell.

His Evil Ranking[]

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]

  • Created a web of fake credentials of a business MBA & a PhD in macroeconomics from the fake university “Kronstadt University”.
  • When working in a UK investment bank, his employers questioned his credentials so he paid an actress to impersonate an official from the fake uni to verify his degrees.
  • He conned tons of people and robbed at least billions of dollars using ponzi schemes, and was even hyprocrite enough for blaming the victims themselves for falling into his cons.
  • He robbed his own daughter out of her inheritance, which enrages her and actually goes to the protest.
  • He is also implied to have stolen from the poor and blind in Morroco who needed money at all cost to survive.
  • After being rescued by Zaydan, he decided to evade from justice and help him into his military coup in Morroco and so start a civil war, which would have resulted in millions of deaths. And while he's not doing anything, he's perfectly willing to let it happen to save his own skin.
  • He is probably one of the most despicable targets of the entier series, even to the point that Zaydan himself was planning on getting rid of him.

What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]

  • He fails the Heinous Standards to Zaydan since he is the one starting the civil war while Strandberg is just helping him.
  • He has two moments of genuine honor:
    • He allows one of his men Matthias to keep one of his paintings that he always liked that Matthias retrieved for him.
    • Asks Agent 47 to leave Morrocco before "things get unpleasant" and even offers him a job.
  • One of the ways 47 can kill him is very comedic & ironic, which is dropping a prop moose on his head (keep in mind he's from Sweden, and the Swedish national animal is the moose).
