His Evil Ranking[]
What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]
In General[]
- Deboth's ultimate goal is to evolve into the ultimate being by travelling the cosmos and destroying various lifeforms for his creator Devius.
- Despite being a creation by Devius, it is noted that his own creations, born from his cells, are in full control of their actions, with most of them being sympathetic with redeeming qualities (Aigaron, Dogold, Candelilla, and Luckyuro), are genuinely loyal to him (Chaos, Gadoma, Icerondo, and Killborero), or can choose not to care about others but themselves (Endolf and D) with Torin becoming good as soon as he realized the beauty of the Earth and its inhabitants and becoming the mentor to the Kyoryuger team, thus showing that Deboth does not lack moral agency, which he further proves when he evolves into a humanoid monster.
- Even before becoming humanoid, Deboth has enough sapience to create his army, choose which emotion to absorb at a time, talk to Chaos through his hand after transferring his heart to him (Chaos can even understand what he's saying), and speak through possessing Chaos.
- While he was feral and mindless in episode 22 and 23, it was only because he didn't have enough energy to be thawed out due to a desperate gambit to destroy Plezulon by Chaos.
- In addition, he is shown to be sadistic and manipulative in his final form, has an understanding of what he was created to do, and was frightened of the Kyoryugers' excess bravery in prehistoric form. Overall, he has a clear personality despite his limited screen time and can't truly be a GDV.
- He cares nothing about the members of his army, who are technically his children due to being made from his cells. He has abused the knights without provocation and even had some of them disposed of, tries to have his "son" Torin killed many times after he rebelled against him, supported Chaos and Endolf's plan to try corrupting him into turning back to evil and possessed his other son in an attempt to kill the Kyoryugers before regaining his bodily form. While he does act nice to some of them such as Chaos, it's only because they are useful servants that can carry out his plans.
- Unlike most of his creations, he has no comedic moments and is treated as a horrifying and dangerous threat to the world that must be stopped.
- He easily passes the heinous standards of Kyoryuger due to his high kill count and sadistic attempts to destroy the planet, as well as being the instigator of all the conflicts in the series. Most of his actions when invading Earth are done out of his own resolve even though his destroying of planets was ordered to by Devius.
- Dagded Djardin is not a fair comparison as he is an even more powerful alien who is only held back by his own amusement and yet has powers such as using actual planets against his targets.
Background[]
- As he was created by Devius to do, Deboth studied multiple planets and their lifeforms before destroying them in order to evolve from them until he became the ultimate lifeform.
- He ordered Torin to scout Earth and start a first wave assault while Chaos was sent to another planet, only for Torin to have change of heart and aid the dinosaurs against him.
- He caused the dinosaurs extinction through three Debo Monsters, who used their themed powers (ice age, sickness, and meteors) to kill them off. These were the equivalent to the three most likely reasons the dinosaurs went extinct were believed to happen in real life.
- He waged war against Torin and the Zyudenryu (dinosaurs who were upgraded by Torin to combat the Deboth Army). In the middle of the battle he created the deadly Great Land Devil Gadoma to massacre the 13 Guardians. This caused Torin's Zyudenryu partner Bragigas to be filled with grief and used a dangerous ability to seal both of them away, at the cost of being dragged down with him. As a result, Torin was left without his partner for millions of years.
- Due to his subordinates plans to create a sizeable army to bring him back, Deboth is indirectly responsible for some of the Kyoryugers' conflicts prior to the series like Utsusemimaru being possessed by Raging Knight Dogold (as well as the deaths of his master and comrades from the Sengoku era that preceded said possession) and Sorrowful Knight Aigaron's murder of Ian Yorkland's best friend Shiro.
- His actions also led to Daigo Kiryu's father disappearing for a brief period of time, as he had to leave in order to obtain the Earth's melody and help Torin defeat the Deboth Army.
Kyoryuger[]
- He emerges in present day in his sealed state: the Frozen Castle, allowing Chaos to resume the attacks on humanity and form a team of generals including one of the Zetsumates Debo Hyogakki who freezes a good chunk of the city in hopes to start an ice age (he would do this again in episode 24 shortly after Deboth's presumed death).
- He and Chaos had the three Debo Knights create monsters for them to aid in their plans to gather enough joy, sorrow, and rage to fully thaw him out. To do so, he chooses which emotion to accept thus leading to attacks like imprisoning athletes to make them angry enough, giving humans painful toothaches from cakes (though to be fair, the monster in question wanted to make genuine cakes to make people happy until another one corrupted him), brainwashing children into soldiers, and creating wishes from cursed Tantanba slips which would kill whoever made those wishes before sunrise the next day amongst others.
- After being partially revived due to Chaos' decision to speed the process up in response to the threat that Zyudenryu Plezulon could pose to their plans, he stabs the Zetsumate Debo Viruson in the chest and absorbs him in order to assimilate him into himself. Then he proceeds to nearly kill off the Kyoryugers and their mecha combination with his destructive power, only failing due to their excess bravery scaring him enough for them to retreat.
- He tries to blast apart his own knights out of insanity despite them being happy to see him and only doesn't kill them because Luckyuro fires a shrink ball and Chaos binds him in order to keep him from causing too much damage.
- Surviving his seeming death by transferring his heart into Chaos, he creates Endolf to counter the Kyoryugers' bravery with hatred and resentment, making him responsible for Endolf's own sadistic heinous acts.
- He supported the plan to corrupt Torin back to evil, which ends up resulting in Torin's first death.
- After creating two new Debo Knights to kidnap various humans to try and drain of their sorrow and joy energy and revive him (though their true purpose is to replace Aigaron and Candelilla as the sorrowful and joyful knights), he possesses Chaos himself to buy time to merge with the Frozen Castle (which he eventually does) and kill the Kyoryugers in the process. Keep in mind, Chaos is technically his other son.
- He creates a countdown clock and reveals that humanity only has 50 hours to live before he destroys the planet (most likely out of sadism) before evolving to his final humanoid Chozetsushin form and defeating the Kyoryugers even when they formed Gigant Bragi-Oh.
- He makes a deal with Dantetsu where the human would kill off Torin as a Deboth member so that he can't come back as a Spirit Ranger in exchange for Deboth sparing the planet but killing off all the humans. He sadistically watched as Torin is killed off for good while the others are forced to watch Dantetsu's act and betrayal.
- Even then, this deal was a lie as he wants all life on the planet dead and he went back on his word to restart the countdown and ordered his generals to kill Dantetsu since he had no more use for him.
- He is unaware that Dantetsu's betrayal was an act he and Torin planned in advance as part of a gambit to send Torin's spirit to Deboth Hell, where the monsters go after being killed off, and destroy it from the inside, but Deboth still intended to betray him, thus making him dishonorable.
- He okays Chaos' intention to kill Candelilla and Luckyuro out of paranoia that the two would defect like Torin. They decide to kill Aigaron as well when he overhears this, thus leading to the latter's death by his replacement Icerondo.
- He unleashed a full horde of Zorima to overwhelm humanity and make them suffer before he launches the Frozen Castle into space with himself in it for his final plan to destroy Earth with an evil melody he intends to broadcast everywhere.
- He tried to kill Daigo when he enters the Frozen Castle.
- Even though he was destroyed, Daigo was thought to have also died taking him down with him. Though the Zyudenryu saved him before the resulting explosion, it wasn't known to the others until a few months later.
Post-Kyoryuger[]
- His regret in not having enough knowledge to prevent his death (which was because he didn't like that he lost, not genuine remorse for his actions) leads to the creation of Remorseful Knight Aslervan, who sought to time travel back to his death in order to prevent it and caused the events of Kyoryuger 10 Years After. Furthermore, a new Deboth Army emerged as well and vows to revive Deboth after Aslervan's death.
- His death also led to the events of ToQger Vs. Kyoryuger as Creator Devius came to Earth to succeed where his creation failed and replace it with a new planet that is created to his liking.
- If the events of Power Rangers Dino Force Brave is to be taken as canon, he is also the one who created Deizarus, which led to the threat of the Neo Deboth Army a few years later.
- His successor Kabutobushin Deboth would terrorise Earth again and conquer it for a brief period of time with the help of the Galactinsects, which wouldn't have happened without Deboth's creation,
What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]
- He is truly loyal to his creator Devius and does exactly what he created him to do for him, thus destroying planets was done under his orders, which is confirmed when Devius comes to Earth himself in ToQger Vs. Kyoryuger. However, almost all of his actions were still his own to come up with, especially against Earth in present day, making this a minor prevention.
Trivia[]
- He and Resentful Knight Endolf are the only two NPEs in Kyoryuger.
- While he qualifies as NPE, his Power Rangers counterpart Greenzilla does not, as they are a completely feral species with none of them standing out from another and their only crimes are generic citywide destruction and trying to kill the heroes. It is noteworthy that Dino Charge only adapted Deboth's prehistoric form while his final humanoid form was never used.
