His Evil Ranking[]
What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]
- After Ms. Chalice and Mugman collect all of the ingredients, he reveals that he had snatched up Cuphead's soul, plotting on baking it in the Wondertart.
- He brutally slaughters several of the sapient ingredients, breaking the sugar cube in pieces, flattening the dough and cutting it up into horse cookies, slicing and dicing the limes and throwing their eviscerated corpses at Ms. Chalice and Mugman, and squeezing the berries out of a barrel.
- He plans on drowning all the residents of the isle in his salt during his control of the Astral Plane.
- This would've been especially worse for the Announcer Snail, Spider mobster and fly goons from the Moonshine Mob, As they will not only die from drowning but also suffer from the toxins and dehydration due to the fact that they are insects and gastropod
- Unlike his original counterpart, who redeemed himself at the end of the story, this version of Saltbaker lacks any redemption.
What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]
- He has a few comedic moments that detract from his villainy, such as whining about his peppercorns hitting being "assault", getting defeated by Mugman tricking him into thinking that he died, when he prepares to bake Cuphead's soul into the Wondertart to give to Mugman and Miss Chalice, who prevent him from doing so, leaving him to give them his soul while saying "You guys are no fun." in an annoyed manner, and the post-credits scene of the video where he freaks out over Cuphead, Mugman and Mrs. Chalice as flies saying "WE HAVE COME FOR YOUR WONDERTART".
- He has a tragic backstory, due to him being mistreated by the townsfolks, and even if it does not excuse his actions, he was motivated from it, and said backstory is portrayed with sympathy.
- Has some honor, as he does give back Cuphead after he was defeated.
Trivia[]
- During his song, the phrase "This pleasure island hosts such joys but you'll never come back as BOYS!" is a reference to the Coachman from Pinocchio, an approved Pure Evil.
- He, alongside Fatal Error, are one of the only non-OC Near Pure Evils whose creator is aware of their moral scale.
