Charlotte Linlin also known more commonly by her alias Big Mom is a major antagonist of the One Piece franchise. She is the main antagonist of the Whole Cake Island Saga and one of the two secondary antagonists (alongside Kurozumi Orochi) of the Wano Country Saga.
Big Mom was one of the Four Emperors of the Sea and the Captain to the Big Mom Pirates. She is the matriarch of the Charlotte Family and the mother to dozens of children. She is one of the most powerful pirates in the world with one of the highest bounties in the world. She's the arch-nemesis of the Giants of Elbaf and archenemy of both Gol D. Roger and Monkey D. Luffy, as well as the arch-rival and former crewmate of Kaido.
She is voiced by Mami Koyama who also voiced Kaguya Ōtsutsuki in Japanese, and Pam Dougherty in English.

What Makes Her Close to Being Pure Evil?[]
- As a child, she razed multiple islands and forced the people their to accept her as their new leader under the threat of death. She is responsible for causing mass destruction and killing many people during her attacks.
- She would abduct men and force them to bear her children. After having her children, Big Mom would dump the men she made into her husbands.
- Big Mom would also treat her ex-husbands terribly.
- Big Mom would purposely not allow any of the men to be a part of her family. She would also not allow them to see or hold their children. For example, she would keep Pound from seeing his twin daughter, Lola and Chiffon.
- She would teach her children to look down on their fathers in their family and not consider them a part of the family. This was a motivating factor towards Charlotte Cracker attempting to kill Pound.
- Big Mom would offer protection to islands under her rule, but if they refused to give her payment of candy on time, she would send her men to destroy the country as punishment. One instance is shown when Bobbin burns down a country for not paying Big Mom on time.
- Upon her introduction in the series, she attempted to have Fishman Island destroyed for not having her payment on time. When Luffy declared Fishman Island his territory, she pushed her rage towards him and threatened to kill him when he gets further into the New World.
- Big Mom, along with Vinsmoke Judge, was responsible for Capone Bege and the Big Mom Pirates kidnapping of Sanji on Zou.
- She is shown to not have any real care for her children as she didn't justify her actions of allowing her kids to be bullied and abused. She only uses them for two purposes: as political bargaining chips to be married off to a powerful ally to gain power for herself or to build up her powerful military. She is also shown to encourage the cruel nature of some of her children like Charlotte Anana.
- She does not take it lightly when anyone tries to leave her alliance. For instance, when Jinbe declares that he will be joining the Straw Hat Pirates, she attempted to kill him through a selection process on a roulette wheel.
- After going on her hunger pangs rampage which results in her killing people, destroying property, and taking a significant portion of her son's, Charlotte Moscato's, life span, Big Mom regains her senses, but does not show any concern or care for endangering the people around her.
- She is shown to harbor xenophobic prejudice against giants due to her failed attempt at an alliance with Elbaf when her daughter, Lola refused to accept to marry the prince, Loki. This is shown by how Totto Land has nearly all races in her territory, but no giants.
- Its revealed that Big Mom's alliance with the Vinsmoke Family was never genuine and that she intended to murder the family including Sanji during the wedding to take their technology for herself.
- She is shown to be cruel to Pudding and would mock her for having three eyes, which would result in Pudding's insecurity towards herself, despite needing her to read the poneglyphs using the extra eye.
- Big Mom attempts to locate her daughter, Charlotte Lola's, wherabouts to send an assassin to kill her after she turned down a political marriage with the monarch of Elbaf, Loki. Big Mom admits that she hates Lola for denying her an opportunity to get enough power to find the One Piece and become the Pirate King. Big Mom assigned Opera to interrogate and torture Nami for Lola's whereabouts just so Big Mom would send assassins to kill Lola.
- She is shown to emotionally and physically abuse her other daughter, Charlotte Chiffon, because she is twin sister of Lola. Due to Chiffon's participation in Bege's failed attempt to assassinate her, Big Mom swears that she will kill her daughter.
- Big Mom attacks Vinsmoke Judge and mocks him after the revelation that she intended to kill him and his family for their technology.
- She seemingly kills her son Charlotte Opera in another of her hunger pangs, not caring about his supposed death after she came to her senses.
- When Big Mom makes it to Wano, she is shown supporting Kaido in his plan to turn Wano into a lawless pirate paradise by having him drop Onigashima on the Flower Capital and then have pirates abuse the civilians of Wano. She is also interested in supporting him in his plan to find the Ancient Weapons and the One Piece and then wage war against the World Government to destroy the world.
- When Kaido beheads Kurozumi Orochi, Big Mom shown her sadistic streak when she laughs at excitement, calling Orochi as a worthless shogun.
- Big Mom tells Kaido to capture Nico Robin because they need her for her knowledge of Road Poneglyphs.
- She is shown to be dismissive to her own homies such as Zeus by declaring that he was no longer needed after a few setbacks, leading to Zeus betraying her and becoming Nami's ally.
- She attempted to kill Tama, who is a child, when she saw that Tama went with Nami and Usopp instead of going with her.
- Killed a lot of the Beasts Pirates and the Samurai to power herself and her Homies up.
- She tried to kill Law and Kidd when they decided to defeat her, developing a special hatred towards Kid and Law due to their defiance.
What Prevents Her from Being Pure Evil?[]
- She has moral agency issues due to her extreme insanity.
- There are a few people she genuinely cares about:
- She is shown to love Mother Carmel. She is shown crying while thinking about her even though Big Mom underwent a psychological breakdown due to Brook destroying the portrait. During her bad end musical, Big Mom also thought about Mother Carmel and whether she believes Big Mom can meet her dreams.
- Big Mom refers to Kaido as her "little brother" showing that she sees him as part of her family. She also expressed some concern for Kaido when he took an attack from Luffy that caught him off guard. She also tells Kaido to dodge Zoro's attack due to his sword Enma.
- Big Mom is shown to have "mother mode" where she is willing to be kind to children. She is also willing to protect and be kind to children as well, even if they are not her own, like what she did to Tama. She shown to be supportive of Anana due to her psychopathy and has no problem of handing her knives.
Trivia[]
- Big Mom stated to Caesar that she wanted for him to make the gigantification serum so that her children can be as tall as her and make them "equal" to her. While this shows that she is interested in making them equal to her, it also shows that she refuses to accept them for how they are and is willing to force a change on them to make them what she wants them to be.
- She had a redeeming moment with Tama during Wano, but she subverts this moment by attempting to kill Tama because she perceived Tama's interest with staying with Nami and Usopp a betrayal to her. While her mother mode is a prevention and she is shown to protect and be kind to children who are not her own, when she is provoked, she is willing to resort to extreme violence or kill the child out of rage.
