Near Pure Evils who betray their friends or allies for factors like personal gain. Most of the time treachery is actually considered to be one of the most villainous traits in a Near Pure Evil because a traitor is complicated to trust. Also, any character who's heartless and merciless enough to double cross their allies or friends is more than sufficiently ruthless enough to be a big threat to anybody else.
