Condemners are a type of Near Pure Evil villain that condemns their victims to a fate described to be worse than death. These characters have the power and ability to trap their victims through magical or other unconventional means and make them suffer perpetually and leave them trapped in a condition where they cannot free themselves. Due to the amount of pain and suffering these characters put their victims through, they often cross the Moral Event Horizon.
These characters may be motivated to do this to others out of sadism, to create a personal collection, to use them for slave labor or military purposes, or for any other reason. This could be the result of a curse that the character placed on another or their own power. In many cases, the character can manipulate the object and have it move around on its accord even though the victim cannot have control over this. In addition, the character can transform their victim into a specific lifeform that could be handicapped or suffering in some capacity to be used by the character for various purposes.
Common examples of this when a condemner turns their victim into an inanimate object or a specific lifeform while they retain their consciousness, or they trap the victim's spirit in an inanimate object while leaving their body unconscious. The victims can be made to be immortal and left completely aware of their situation and their surroundings, and often left to feel perpetual fear by the individual who condemned them.
Condemners can also condemn their victims by trapping them or their spirit in an object or a specific living vessel while leaving them unconscious. This would also be considered a terrible fate as these characters trapped their victims in an unnatural state where they would not be able to pass on to the afterlife. Instead, they are not aware of their current situation and is left helpless to do anything about it.
In all these situations, the victims cannot free themselves from this situation. Some cases, their situation could be irreversible, or they can be released if the condemner have been defeated, killed, or chooses to release them from their condemned state.
Important: This is not to be confused with Murderers as condemners do not kill their victims, they keep them alive in an unnatural state. These characters can be Zero Kill Count Near Pure Evils. This is also not to be confused with corrupt officials who imprison others or torturers. This is only for characters who usually use magic to transform their victims into inanimate objects or a living vessel to trap their spirit in an unnatural state while keeping them in a conscious or unconscious state for various reasons or purposes.
