This is the world, Lenore. We could take the entire world for our own.
~ Carmilla to Lenore.
I'm nothing but ambition. I'm a queen! This world belongs to me. Because the likes of you never knew what to do with it.
~ Carmilla acknowledging her ambitious nature to Isaac during their confrontation.

Carmilla is the secondary antagonist of the Netflix animated series Castlevania, based on video game franchise of the same name.

She is the ruler of Styria and leader of the Council of Sisters, originally being one of Dracula's generals before betraying him and later plans to rule the world and enslave the human race and use them as livestock. She's also the arch-enemy of Isaac, Dracula's loyal follower and friend.

She was voiced by Jaime Murray, who also portrayed Nyssa al Ghul in Gotham, and by Mie Sonozaki in the Japanese dub.

Her Evil Ranking[]

What Makes Her Close to Being Pure Evil?[]

  • In the past, she murdered her master and took control over Styria, tyrannically ruling the people she deemed as livestock.
  • She and her Council of Sisters tended to hunt and kill humans for food, sometimes outright torturing them for information.
  • Joined Dracula's court and assisted him in his goal of killing humanity, but also seeks to usurp him and take his throne as the ruler of vampires.
  • Manipulated one of Dracula's human generals, Hector, playing with his feelings and ideology in order to have him betray Dracula.
  • When launching an invasion at Braila, she soon starts the attack at Dracula's castle by having Hector resurrect the corrupt Bishop to bless the water and having her men destroy a bridge, killing multiple vampires.
  • She enslaves Hector, needlessly assaulting him and beating him to a bloody pulp, despite him already complying with her.
  • Forces Hector to walk one hundred miles at an end of a rope, suffering from harsh winter and made him walk barefooted. She abuses along the way back to Styria. When they arrived, she continues to dehumanize him and treat him like an animal, have him stripped of his clothing and locking him in a cell naked and get abused by the prison guards.
  • Planned for Hector to make an army of undead monsters to rule the world, including locking multiple humans into breeding pens so they be treated as live stocks to make more humans for her and her kind to feast on.
  • She is implied to have sex slaves in her room.

What Prevents Her from Being Pure Evil?[]

  • Her villainy and misandristic outlook stem from a genuinely tragic backstory, in which she was enslaved by her vampire master, who used her as a sex slave until she had enough and killed him, escaping with a negative opinion on men and a desire to take everything from the "stupid, evil old men" who she saw as having ruled the world.
  • She shows genuine care for her cohorts, going so far as to calling them sisters, and values their help when needed, even being willing to hear their critiques on her plans instead of murdering them.
