Calisto Yew, also known as Shih-na is the secondary antagonist of Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth. She is an enigmatic spy who pretends to be a defense attorney, and later an interpol officer. In actuality, she works for a smuggling ring.
Her Evil Ranking[]
What Makes Her Close to Being Pure Evil?[]
- She killed Bryne Faraday and Mack Rell and was complicit in the deaths of Cece Yew, Manny Coachen, and Ka-Shi Nou.
- She killed Faraday while being completely uncaring to the fact that his 10 year old daughter was in the building and inevitably would have found out about it.
- Being responsible for the deaths of Cece and Faraday also made Badd feel extremely guilty for not being able to protect them, causing him to suffer for 9 years and become obsessed with stopping Yew.
- She was perfectly willing to attempt to murder people to escape the consequences of her actions, almost killing Miles Edgeworth and holding Kay Faraday (a minor) at gunpoint in an effort to escape consequences.
- She joined the Yatagarasu, an honorable group, yet her motivation was purely to spy on them, fully intending to have Tyrell Badd and Faraday killed by her boss when she's had her fun stealing stuff with them.
- She worked with Quercus Alba's smuggling ring as his main spy and assassin, willingly helping cover up the destabilisation of 2 entire countries, uncaring of the suffering that her actions cause others. She's completely numb to the trauma and torment her victims go through, brushing it off in a heartbeat.
- She was willing to assist Alba in sabotaging the reunion of two countries, prolonging a costly and destructive diplomatic crisis.
- As Shih-na, she sabotaged interpol, compromising their integrity to help Alba.
- She formed a bond with Lang, fully intending to betray him once he outlives his usefulness.
- She set a building on fire, knowing that people are still in it, in order to help Alba move Coachen's body through the tunnel that connects the two fountains after he was done murdering him.
- She framed Kay for murder, knowing that she possessed the gadget "Little Thief" and wanted to steal it for smuggling operations.
- She held Kay hostage and threatened to kill her when she was held at gunpoint in an attempt to resist arrest.
- She has no loyalty for anyone but herself, as she betrayed Faraday, Badd, Lang, Alba, and Edgeworth.
- While her testimony helped arrest Alba for good, this was mainly to show how traitorous she is.
- At the end of the day, she did what she did for thrills, not caring about the harm she caused along the way.
What Prevents Her from Being Pure Evil?[]
- She's surprisingly honorable, as she clearly respects Miles Edgeworth, Shi-Long Lang, and Kay Faraday, and said she would have been content with being Lang's second in command had things been different. She also shows respect to Edgeworth for being a worthy opponent and decides to give him a clue and evidence that lead to Alba being exposed as the real culprit and leader behind the Cohdopian smuggling ring.
