~ Cad Spinner deciding to reroute the waterline to the lodge, even though it means the firefighters being unable to fight the wildfire. |
Cad Spinner is the main antagonist of the 2014 Disney animated film Planes: Fire & Rescue, the sequel to the 2013 film Planes, a spin-off to the Cars franchise.
He is a heartless capitalist whose only interest is ensuring a profit for himself. Cad is in charge of the Grand Fusel Lodge at Piston Peak Park, wanting to make a big success of it.
He was voiced by John Michael Higgins.
His Evil Ranking[]
What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]
- After some VIP helicopters accidentally started a massive forest fire, Cad tried to save face by persuading the tourists and VIPs to stay inside his Grand Fusel Lodge.
- Despite being the superintendent of Piston Peak Park for five years, he cruelly refused to cancel the opening of the lodge and evacuate everyone when warned about the forest fire, prioritizing his success over safety.
- He ordered Andre, the concierge, to switch the main water supply to the lodge's sprinklers, and when Andre explained that the firefighters need the water to make retardant, Cad dismissed him and switched the water supply himself, leaving the firefighters without water to stop the forest fire and nearly causing the innocent cars and planes.
- Although he claimed to open the lodge to make people happy, it’s very clear he only opened it to boost his own ego.
What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]
- He suffers from Fridge Horror, as while André the concierge makes it clear that the firefighters need water to make retardant and fight fire to which Cad emphatically responds by saying he doesn't care before stealing the water anyway, it's not made entirely clear how aware he was of the extent of the damage he was causing.
- He has some comedic moments, such as mistaking Dusty for Ripslinger and him getting reassigned to Death Valley Park after being fired.
