Bambi "Buck" Hughes is the tertiary antagonist in the 2012 video game Far Cry 3.
He is an Australian ex-soldier turned mercenary under the employment of Hoyt Volker. He has Jason Brody search for the Silver Dragon in return for his friend Keith Ramsay, whom he has as his sex slave. However, Buck's only manipulated Jason so he could claim the dagger, and attempts to kill Brody but is defeated.
He was voiced by Julian Casey.

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]
- According to Buck's character bio, he was once in the military but got kicked out for his fixation on brutality, implying that he committed some type of war crime and presumably killed some people during the war.
- He sends Jason on a handful of suicide missions to obtain the Silver Dragon knife, threatening to gut/torture Keith for failing and talking rudely to him. Because of this endeavor, several of Vaas' pirates are killed in self-defense.
- It's heavily implied that he brutally raped Keith, judging from Buck cupping his groin during the reveal, as well as the bloody handprints on Keith's shirt combined with his fear of getting touched. Keith's trauma from this torture is played completely dramatically and sympathetically, and is one of the most disturbing things about the entire game.
- He tries to make Jason a sex slave even after he got him the knife he wanted, with the above quote that happens during the ensuing knife fight implying that he's either a cannibal or a necrophile.
- He has no redeeming qualities, and is the first person Jason kills without remorse. While Buck does have some comedic lines, they don't detract from his villainy in any way as he's still taken 100% seriously in-universe.
What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]
- He does not meet the high standards of the series because his worst act, horrifically abusing Keith in physical and sexual ways, happened offscreen and he's just one of many psychos on an island full of them. Additionally, other villains later on in the series such as Yuma Lau would attempt similar things. However, what he does to Keith is the first real depiction of rape in the entire series, so the crime is realistic enough to make this a minor prevention.
Trivia[]
- When Jason first hears about Buck, he makes a comment saying "he likes to f*ck", foreshadowing his most heinous crime.
- This is also a reference to Kill Bill: Volume 1, from a villain with the same name who is Pure Evil, which is what Buck would be if he passed the heinous standard. Ironically, they are also both rapists in their franchises. However, Buck from Kill Bill: Volume 1 never killed anyone, though his depraved actions which includes pimping his patients through his clients make up for it.
