You just don't get it, do you, Dolph? I'm done! I'm done dancing for the man! The Muffin Man! And Granny! They can both take a hike! I'm never gonna answer to anyone EVER AGAIN! (laughs wickedly) Oh! I just love my job!
~ Boingo explaining how glad he is to start his evil plan, using taking orders from the Muffin Man and Granny as an excuse for doing it.
You've been hoodwinked, baby!
~ Boingo's most famous line, playfully referencing the movie's title while sadistically and rubbishly taunting Red for being tricked by his demeanor.

Boingo is the main antagonist of the Hoodwinked! film duology, serving as the main antagonist of the first film Hoodwinked! and a minor antagonist of the sequel Hoodwinked Too! Hood vs. Evil.

A seemingly charming, happy-go-lucky rabbit going about his business in the Big Bad Forest, he later reveals his cruel, borderline psychopathic nature when he turns out to be the despicable Goody Bandit. With all of the Big Bad Forest's recipes in his hand, he plots to blow the forest to smithereens, thus allowing his goody factory to be created with ease.

He was voiced by Andy Dick.

His Evil Ranking[]

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]

  • He stole many if not all of the goodie recipes in the Big Bad Forest, with his newest addition to his collection of stolen recipes being Granny's.
  • While he seemed to be a friend to Red at first, this was a ploy so that he could steal from her.
  • He robbed Kirk’s schnitzel truck, then stole the truck itself.
  • He dropped Red from a cable car to try to steal the recipes that Granny and Red had as a trade secret. He also leaves a rock behind telling her that her recipes will be stolen next.
  • He sent Wolf and Twitchy on a wild goose chase, which had the side effect of them almost being blown up by dynamite that was inside a mine cart.
  • He had his evil ski team try to kill Granny, most likely so that stealing her recipes would be easier and so that he wouldn’t have her as a competitor.
  • While it is implied in his villain song that he became evil as a result of being bullied, the movie doesn’t confirm it, and Red never bullied him and was still robbed by him.
  • After tying up Red, he sadistically revealed his nefarious plot to blow up the Big Bad Forest to start up his own goodie factory to the tune of a cheery melody.
    • To add insult to injury, even though they are marketed towards children, his goodies aren't even safe for consumption as they are laced with Boingonium, a substance that makes them addicted to the point of turning people feral.
  • He had Red tied up into the cable car filled with explosives he will use for his attempt at blowing up the Big Bad Forest to spite her for attempting to foil his plans and have him sent to prison.
  • His lackey Keith is implied to dislike him.
  • In the sequel, he tried to weasel his way out of answering questions about Veruca, enjoying the argument sprung up by his manipulation.
    • Even if he did answer questions in the end, it is merely because Red was tugging at his ear.

What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]

  • He has a few comedic moments that detract from his villainy, such as mocking Keith over his name, and him making a reference to Hannibal Lecter in The Silence of the Lambs in Hoodwinked Too! while Red tuggs at his ear.

Trivia[]

  • It's possible that Boingo was originally going to be a bit more evil than in the finished film, because the filmmakers have stated that they originally wrote Boingo as a stock character, but Andy Dick improvised to interpret him as unstable and victimized with a "tragic" backstory he came up with, which was allowed by the crew due to liking such angle. It's unknown if Boingo's original written depiction would have affected his Near Pure Evil status.
  • Boingo was originally approved as Inconsistently Heinous due to supposedly being too comedic for NPE. However, when it turned out his comedic moments weren't as detracting as originally presumed, he was reproposed and approved for Near Pure Evil status.
  • Boingo is the only Hoodwinked! villain to be Near Pure Evil.
