~ Bob’s villainous breakdown attempting to murder Skid, Pimp, Lila and Jaune before getting shot by Jack and John.
Bob Velseb is the secondary antagonist in Sr Pelo's animated series Spooky Month, serving as a minor antagonist in Spooky Month, a cameo antagonist in Deadly Smiles, and the main antagonist of Tender Treats. He is a sadistic serial killer and cannibal who murdered many people in Halloween and has ties to The Cult in the city, and he attempts to murder Lila’s child, Skid and his best friend, Pump, (and later with Jaune as well when she got involved) out of revenge of her sending him to prison.
He was originally voiced by the series creator, Sr Pelo, in the first episode. In Tender Treats, however, he was voiced by Corey LeVier.
He is a sadistic serial killer and cannibal who murdered many people on Halloween via dismemberment.
It was confirmed that he killed over 8 people. Inside his house, we see several bones and limbs on the floor and closet, implying that there are more victims.
He is highly sadistic, smiling when thinking about his crimes and taunting his victims using cannibal facts.
It is shown that he has connections towards the mysterious cult, implicating him in their crimes. It’s also likely that he isn’t truly loyal to them, simply works with them out of mutual criminal goals.
In the first episode, he held up Lila at knifepoint and tried to kill her. While this was initially comedic, it is later retconned into being serious as it’s revealed Lila gained PTSD over that incident.
He supposedly sells his deceased victims at Boys & Grills, presumably butchering them into meat, which is detailed in a news article. This makes Bob responsible for enforcing his cannibalism onto others.
He broke out of prison and stalked Lila, wanting to get revenge for sending him to prison. By doing this he broke into her home and attempted to kill her, before eventually leaving to kill Pump and Skid, despite the two having done nothing to him. It should also be noted that both Skid and Pump are children.
When following Skid and Pump into the haunted house, he brutally maimed the mansion’s greeter, Streber, and ate his arm, rendering him an amputee.
He broke into the candy shop and attempted to kill Kevin along with Skid and Pump.
When he got a stomachache from the candy Kevin used to distract him, he killed a man (Keep in mind that said man is a persona of the creator) in the bathroom stall to use it.
He threatened to murder The Hatzgang, a gang of kids, and only spared them because they offered their bags of candy to him. It's worth mentioning that the candy was for Robert's sick sister.
When finally confronting Skid and Pump, he tells the kids to play Hide and Seek and tells them to hide. While one could argue this was Bob giving them a chance to escape, this was most likely for a thrill of the hunt situation. He also followed Skid and Pump while counting, likely subverting the argument entirely.
He confronts Skid, Pump, Lila, and Jaune and prepares to kill them all at once. Even after being hit by John and Jack's police car and being shot multiple times, he still keeps trying to finish them off until he finally drops dead after being ran over a few times.
He is one of the few characters who actually darkens the mood of the story and even scares Skid and Pump to the point of screaming.
He has right next to no redeeming qualities, and despite being psychotic, nothing states he has moral agency issues. This is made even more clear by his ability to control his habits, showing he is capable of pragmatism.
What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]
While he is taken mostly seriously, especially when compared to other villains in the series, he does have some comedic scenes that detract from his villainy and therefore isn't taken seriously enough for him to be PE, Some of these moments are when:
He briefly partakes in the Spooky Month dance after Lila does it to distract him and when she "seasons" him immediately afterwards.
Getting diarrhea after eating too many candies.
Turning into a poorly rendered 3D and clay models after getting run over and shot by John and Jack.
However, these moments are very brief, and he is still taken very seriously by the narrative, so this is a minor prevention.
As seen in a Sr. Pelo sketch, he is implied to have a soft spot for animals, as he calls Dexter a monster for killing animals and bites his head when Dexter says that animals don't have emotions
Trivia[]
He along with Moloch are the only Spooky Month villains to be Near Pure Evil so far.
