The Blue Soul human is one of the two overarching antagonists (alongside Flowey) of the UNDERTALE fan made prequel Undertale Yellow. The fifth human to fall into the Underground after Chara, the Blue Soul human was extremely violent after falling into the Underground, attacking numerous monsters along the way, including Dalv and Kanako. Chujin was enraged his daughter Kanako was endangered by them, so he sent his newest creation Axis to neutralise the human at Waterfall, obtaining their soul and ending the human's rampage.
Despite their death however, they heavily influence the story as a whole, with their actions leading to Chujin's death, which later resulted in Kanako ending up in the "fallen down" state, causing Ceroba to send her to Alphys's lab and her to become miserable due to losing both of her family members, and on the Pacifist Route, she tried to kill Clover to get their pure soul to undo what the Blue Soul human did. Furthermore, it's the reason why Axis is as violent as they are towards Clover in the Steamworks, and in the genocide route, them admitting having killed the Blue Soul human is what caused Clover to go up to Level 19 and become even more murderous than before.
Their Evil Ranking[]
What Makes Them Close to Being Pure Evil?[]
- Although it isn't outright stated, it's made extremely obvious that they went on a killing spree throughout the Underground. They were described by several monsters to be a rather violent individual, they had dust all over their clothes, and despite the fact that Kanako and Dalv managed to escape them, they were impure due to having killed at least one monster before.
- They attempted to kill Kanako and Dalv despite the fact they were rather peaceful, with the only reason they failed being the fact the two fled.
- When Chujin tried using their soul to make it to where monsters can defend themselves from humans easier, they refused and rejected every attempt to experiment on them or fuse together.
- Their actions indirectly led to several conflicts in the plot, such as Dalv isolating himself in the Ruins, the Ketsukane family to be ruined, and the creation of Axis, who would try killing Clover repeatedly throughout the Steamworks.
- While they did help Frisk against Photoshop Flowey in Undertale, it's unknown what their motives are, as while it could be due to them genuinely wanting to help Frisk, it could also just be them wanting to escape Omega Flowey and leave the Underground, with the latter possibility being more likely considering how little they cared for others and how terrifying the Neutral Route in this prequel showed it to be to have anyone's soul absorbed by Flowey.
What Prevents Them from Being Pure Evil?[]
- They are insufficiently characterized since they had no lines and little to no appearances, though this didn't make them a Generic Doomsday Villain as it's known for sure that they wanted to escape to the surface, they had some form of integrity since that's what their soul represented, they're violent, and they hated the idea of being experimented on, with it being implied that the reason is due to spite towards Chujin for creating Axis to kill them.
- It is implied that they only tried to attack Dalv in self defense[1]
- To add onto the previous point considering Dalv lived to run away and Kanako was seemingly left untouched it's possible the Blue soul never intended to hurt her in the first place, this is more speculatory though.
- The comparisons between Clover on genocide and integrity may suggest that integrity was an anti villain similar to Clover on genocide.
- Integrity's death is treated with sympathy by Clover, Axis, their final message on the Echo-Flower and suprisingly even Chujinn feels regret over causing their death
Trivia[]
- The Blue Soul Human is the only character from Undertale Yellow to be Near Pure Evil, as every other villain in the game is an anti-villain, aside from Flowey who eventually redeems himself in Undertale, with many either redeeming themself, being bog standard, or both.
