~ Jarvis to his son and former accomplice Darrin Call.

Bill Jarvis, otherwise known as the "Hollow Creek Killer", is the main antagonist of the Criminal Minds episode "Haunted". He is a pedophile who, as a young man, raped and murdered dozens of young boys, forcing his son Darrin to act as his accomplice.

He was portrayed by Don Creech as an older man and Kanin Howell when younger.

His Evil Ranking[]

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]

  • Prior to the events of the episode he kidnapped 3 boys and proceeded to rape and torture them for weeks on end with a knife. After he was done he mutilated them so badly that they were found in pieces.
  • He had his son (whom he did not even bother to name) dispose of the clothes of the victims by burning them.
  • After failing to murder his 4th victim, he grabbed his son and punched him for it, but he also escaped. The victim who survived gave the locations of 3 victims who were killed, implying that possibly more fell victim as the 3 victims were the only ones he knew of.
  • The effects his crimes had on his son were so severe that he would suffer lifelong PTSD, which led to him snapping and going on a killing spree that left 6 people dead. This makes Bill indirectly responsible for the deaths of those 6 people.
  • When his son confronted him about his crimes, Bill showed no remorse and proceeded to say that he does not know what he is talking, about which infuriated his son so much that he just shot him on the spot despite Hotchner attempting to defuse the situation.
  • Hotchner posited that Bill did not target pre-adolescent children because he felt that it would be "wrong" to do so, but there is no actual indication that this was true, especially since Bill did not respond in any way to the theory.
  • Despite the absurdly high Heinous Standards of Criminal Minds, Bill Jarvis stands out for the duration and horrific rape and torture of 3 boys and another attempted one, plus the PTSD he gave to Darrin which made him into a spree killer.

What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]

  • Due to the exact scope of his victims being unknown, he suffers from Fridge Horror, which causes him to fail the Heinous Standards to more established psychopaths such as Jacob Dawes (who raped and murdered 18 teenage girls and also ordered his wife to murder his infant son) and Shane Wyland (who molested and murdered 12 boys and pimped his last known victim to another pedophile).
