NOTE: This page is about the version of Beta from the comics, as his TV version was voted Inconsistently Heinous. Thus, only his crimes from the comics should be added here.

We do not have names. I am called Beta. [...] You are not amusing. You are too loud. This is not a world for the loud anymore. You need to be silenced.
~ Beta talking to Negan.

Beta is a major antagonist of The Walking Dead comic series, being the secondary antagonist of "Volume 26: Call to Arms", and the main antagonist of "Volume 27: The Whisperer War" and "Volume 29: Lines We Cross".

He is the second in command and “Beta” of a cultish group known as The Whisperers.

His Evil Ranking[]

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]

  • Like Alpha herself, Beta allowed rape in the group - which included Alpha’s daughter Lydia.
  • He attacked Michonne and Aaron, and almost killed Aaron by stabbing him in the gut and wanted to carve Michonne's face off.
  • Despised Negan and was wishing to kill him for joining the Whisperers and intervenes when he tried stopping two people from raping a woman.
  • Declared war against the rest of the communities out of anger for Alpha’s death.
  • Murdered Gabriel Stokes when he was scouting by gutting him and letting him get devoured by the horde.
  • Attacked a group of militia members in a horde, killing three while another four lost their lives.
  • Murdered a whisperer for trying to remove his mask.
  • Leads a zombie horde towards Alexandria to try and destroy the city, which leads to Paula and Andrea’s death.
  • Attempts to murder Jesus and Aaron in their sleep.

What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]

  • He was extremely loyal to Alpha, staying by her side and after discovering her body, Beta screamed in tears and proclaimed there was never going to be another Alpha.

Trivia[]

  • His TV counterpart was approved Inconsistently Heinous due to being more honorable in addition to having a somewhat tragic backstory and sympathetic death.
