NOTE: This page is only about the movie version of Flashpoint Aquaman as his comic book version was not voted Near Pure Evil and thus, only the movie version of Aquaman's info and crimes should be put here.

Aquaman is one of the two secondary antagonists (alongside Wonder Woman) of the 2013 animated movie Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox, which serves as an animated adaptation of the Flashpoint comic book series.

He is the ruler of Atlantis. At the beginning, he seemed to be in love with Wonder Woman, but after she is revealed to have killed Mera, he not only subverts this love but also declares war on the Amazons, eventually coming into conflict with the surface world.

He was voiced by Cary Elwes.

His Evil Ranking[]

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]

  • After finding out that Wonder Woman killed his wife Mera, he decides to wage war on Themyscira out of revenge, a war that went to extreme lengths and, according to Cyborg, had the potential of ending the world if not stopped on time.
  • He captured Captain Atom and weaponized him to create the doomsday device, a powerful weapon with the potential of causing mass death and destruction upon activation.
  • During his war with Themyscira, he flooded a large part of western Europe that, according to Cyborg, killed an approximate of 100 million people.
  • When Deathstroke and Lex Luthor were tracking down his doomsday device with the intentions of destroying it, Aquaman and the atlanteans ambushed their ship and killed their crew, before proceeding to personally kill Lex Luthor with his trident.
  • He punched Ocean Master and left him in the ground just because the latter mentioned the name of Queen Mera.
  • He organized the Atlantean invasion on New Themyscira to take the whole country by force.
  • When Hal Jordan led a kamikaze attack on the Atlantean army, Aquaman sent a giant sea monster to prevent him from stopping his invasion on New Themyscira.
  • He attacked and took down Batman’s airplane as soon as he and the heroes arrived to New Themyscira.
  • When Lois Lane and the resistance confronted Atlanteans and Amazons about the consequences of their war, Aquaman refused to listen and proceeded to send his army to kill any opposing force. He later went to fight Wonder Woman with the intention of killing her as payback for the latter killing Mera.
  • Brutally beating up Cyborg, tearing his metal armor apart and leaving him on the verge of death. He even states he will keep his metal skull as a trophy in his great hall.
  • Shortly before Wonder Woman killed him, he activated the doomsday device to its maximum potential, sending a massive energy wave that could’ve destroyed the Earth, forcing the Flash to rewind time to ensure his mother’s death as a way to save everyone else.

What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]

  • He genuinely cared for Queen Mera, his wife. It was her murder that drove him to wage war on the Amazons out of revenge for said act, and he is genuinely hurt by her death, shown when he hears Ocean Master mentioning her and later when confronting Wonder Woman about this.
  • He shows small, but still genuine care for his fellow Atlanteans. Initially, Aquaman intended to use the doomsday weapon against the Amazons, but when one of his men warns him that using it could wipe out the deeps of the ocean and not just the surface, Aquaman answers by organizing an invasion to New Themyscira instead. Also, when he was moments away from being killed by Wonder Woman, he shows genuine concern for what she could do to the Atlanteans if he surrenders.

Trivia[]

  • This is the only version of Aquaman to be Near Pure Evil.
