~ Allegiant General Pryde to Darth Sidious. |
Allegiant General Enric Pryde is the secondary antagonist of Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker, the final installment of the Star Wars sequel trilogy and the last of the Skywalker Saga. He is a former captain from the Imperial Navy who later joined the First Order and became one of its highest ranking members.
Pryde later serves the resurrected Emperor Palpatine, publicly known as Darth Sidious, in his conquest to reassert a galactic rule, becoming the commanding officer of the Sith Eternal's fleet, the Final Order.
He was portrayed by Richard E. Grant.
His Evil Ranking[]
What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]
- He served the Galactic Empire for years and was one of the few Imperials to know that the Emperor was a Sith.
- In the past, he helped the assassin Ochi of Bestoon search for Rey's parents, Dathan and Miramir, granting Ochi three platoons—a full company of CSA troopers—and a transport.
- Became Emperor Palpatine's inside man in the First Order when Pryde became aware of the Sith Lord's revival.
- Executes General Hux when he finds out Hux is actually a spy for the Resistance. To be fair, Hux deserved it for claiming billions of lives with the Hosnian Cataclysm and just joined the Resistance out of spite to the First Order's new leadership, but Pryde didn't execute him for the former but more for the latter.
- Despite this moment being rather comedic due to how casual and unceremonious it is, it's very brief, and Pryde is otherwise played seriously.
- When Kylo Ren redeems himself, Emperor Palpatine appoints him as the de facto leader of the First Order and also the commanding officer of the Sith Eternal's fleet, the Final Order.
- Under Palpatine's orders, he has a Sith Star Destroyer go to Kijimi, which then destroys the planet, killing billions of people.
- As commanding officer of the Sith fleet, he plans on leading the fleet to destroy every planet in the galaxy that doesn't bow down to Sidious again.
- During the Battle of Exegol, he orders the Sith Eternal forces to fight back against the Resistance and the Citizens' Fleet, resulting in many deaths on the opposing side.
What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]
- He is genuinely loyal to the Emperor, swearing to serve him the same way he did during the Empire's rule, and is even willing to die in triumph over his loyalty to the First Order.
