We can end the Helghast threat for good. Save a whole generation from war.
~ Grey's delusional attempt to "end" the Helghast threat.

Admiral Alex Grey is the secondary antagonist of the 2013 video game Killzone: Mercenary.

She is the Admiral of the Interplanetary Strategic Alliance, as well as the mastermind of the Project Eschaton, a bioweapon project used to target the Helghast in an attempt to eradicate them, once and for all.

She was voiced by Lucy Newman-Williams.

Her Evil Ranking[]

What Makes Her Close to Being Pure Evil?[]

  • While Grey started off as a damsel after her brutal interrogation with Kratek in Diortem, Grey slowly descends into genocidal villainy, as she plans to use Project Eschaton, before going through her planned usage of Kratek's own bioweapon to wipe out the Helghast, once and for all.
  • Despite being a purported Well-Intentioned Extremist, it is clear that Grey only wanted to kill off the Helghast (innocent or not) with the Eschaton virus and later Kratek's own bioweapon, in spite of the massive casualties that would bring to the table. This shows that she doesn't care for the innocent Helghast that would be killed, as she only wants the conflict to end as soon as possible, claiming that it is "a price worth paying to end a conflict that would embroil a generation".
  • Resorted into taking Justus Harkin captive (an 11-year-old child) in order to extract the plasmid trigger from his body, so that she would use it on Kratek's bioweapon to activate it.
  • She is also willing to hire the mercenary organisation Phantom Talon Corp to carry out her missions outside of the ISA's jurisdiction, showing that she has no qualms in committing acts of political corruption, just to simply prove that she is above the law to succeed in her own personal goal.
  • Hypocritically lied to Mandor Savic about giving him protection from Kratek's wrath, as she decided to brutally interrogate him regarding the whereabouts of Kratek's weapon. Not only that, Grey decided to leave Savic to be tortured by the ISA soldiers around his room, long before Danner rescued the mentally broken, guilt-ridden scientist.
  • Attempted to kill Danner for taking Kratek's bioweapon inside the virus containment chamber, as retaliation for his interference.

What Prevents Her from Being Pure Evil?[]

  • Grey fails the In-Story Heinous Standards to Thomas Sinclair, who killed the main protagonist Lucas Kellan on a more personal level, as well as attempting to restart the Helghast-Vektan war with similar resources. She also slightly fails to Anders Benoit, who attempted to profit off from the war, as well as attempting to sell Justus and the bioweapon to the black market in an act of profiteering, as means to be "a rich man", irrespective of the lives he would cost. However, Grey still passes the baseline standards of the franchise for brutally torturing Mandor Savic in her interrogation regarding the bioweapon, as well as attempting to commit genocide against the Helghast through the Project Eschaton virus and later Kratek's bioweapon, as means to destroy the Helghast race, once and for all.

Trivia[]

  • Alex Grey is one of the two NPE characters in the Killzone series alongside Scolar Visari.
