ā€œ Your wounds better heal by Monday. Or else, I'll get blamed for everything! ā€ž
~ Akemi after beating her daughter.

Akemi Hinazuki is the secondary antagonist of Erased. She is Kayo's abusive mother who makes her life miserable daily, indirectly making her a target of the killer.

In the anime, she was voiced by Akemi Okamura and by Carrie Kerranen in the dub.

Her Evil Ranking[]

What Makes Her Close to Being Pure Evil?[]

  • She regularly abuses Kayo for no other reason than anger and spite, taking clear enjoyment in her actions.
  • She forcibly attempts to remove Kayo's wounds to avoid suspicion.
  • She leaves Kayo to freeze to death by locking her in a shed.
  • She attempts to obstruct Satoru's actions, going far as to strike his mother with a shovel.
  • Her villainy is so awful that Satoru, a normally kind and compassionate person, attempts to push her off a staircase.
  • Her actions manage to pass the baseline, given that the heinous standards are low, with only three villains, and her acts go beyond standard domestic abuse.
  • Due to her insanity, it might look like she's not fully aware of the consequences of her actions but there is little proof of this, as she takes sadistic delight in abusing Kayo and makes efforts to prevent getting found out.

What Prevents Her from Being Pure Evil?[]

  • She fails in heinousness to Gaku Yashiro, who did worse with similar resources by murdering multiple children. In the manga, she also fails to Yashiro's brother who was a serial rapist with less resources due to being a child.
  • While her tragedy of being harshly abused by her husband is no excuse for her actions, her breakdown is treated with minor sympathy, as her mother sympathizes with her, believing it to be her fault for the way Akemi turned out.

Trivia[]

  • She's one of the two Erased Near Pure Evils, alongside the anime version of Gaku.
  • It's unknown if her live-action versions would be Near Pure Evil.
