I pity this thing you call courage. SCAR Team One. You're just a man from Earth, dying for a lost cause. Your iron shield burns now... Your world is unguarded. This... this is true courage. (...) The signal is lost. My fleet lands here.
~ Riah's last words as he blows up the AATIS guns, cuts out and destroys his signal transponder and kills himself.

Commander Akeel Min Riah is the secondary antagonist of the 2016 video game Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.

He is a sleeper-cell agent on Earth for the Settlement Defense Front and the second-in-command of Salem Kotch. Min Riah was sent to hijack Earth's planetary defense system and turn it against the S.A.T.O. fleet, annihilating it almost completely.

He was voiced by Jim Pirri in motion capture, who also voiced Kraven the Hunter in Marvel's Spider Man 2.

His Evil Ranking[]

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]

  • Under the alias "Michael Aaron Page", Riah was imbedded on Earth as a mechanical engineer to gain privileged access to the AATIS Guns System.
  • During the Fleet Week celebrations, Riah killed the other engineers stationed at the gun control room and turned the guns on the entire space carrier fleet, destroying nearly the entire fleet and killing their crew members. The wreckage of the carriers would even crash into Geneva, laying waste to most of the city and even traumatizing the civilians who were personally experiencing the attack.
  • During the attack on Geneva, Riah allowed SDF forces to invade and execute and/or massacre innocent civilians.
  • In the climax of the Geneva attack, Riah attempted to detonate the guns and kill himself along with anyone else in the control tower, signaling Kotch to lead a full invasion.
  • When he escapes custody thanks to SDF forces still in Geneva, Riah flees to a church where he can see the AATIS guns, killing many civilians in his path.
  • During a final confrontation with the main protagonist Nick Reyes, he savagely beats Reyes, detonates the guns and kills himself to destroy a transponder he had implanted in him to signal Kotch the all-clear to attack Earth.
  • Despite his minimal appearances, Riah is arguably responsible for the war between UNSC and SDF forces that resulted in countless deaths of soldiers and harmless researchers stationed at their outposts.
  • Also, because he destroyed the AATIS guns and allowed Kotch to invade, he is indirectly responsible for Kotch destroying the UNSA HQ building and killing its personnel, including Admiral Raines.
  • Even though his main mission was to cripple Earth's defense, he shares the same views as his fellow SDF comrades to takeover the entire Solar System and destroy everything Earth-born, meaning he is hateful towards Earth's culture and wants it eradicated.
  • He displays no remorse for his actions, smugly expressing how he started a war and that he will finish the war.

What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]

  • Little is known about his backstory and he isn't given enough personality. Although, he does display a lack of remorse, behaving aggressively whilst in custody, is proven to be arrogant and was willing to die to complete his mission, this is a minor prevention.
  • He fails to meet the in-story heinous standards, unlike Kotch who killed one of his own men, invaded Earth twice, destroyed Tigris and its entire crew, attacked the asteroid facility and turned its bots on the crew and attempted to level all of Geneva.
  • In addition to his lack of backstory and personality, Riah has genuine valor in that he voluntarily commits suicide in order to ensure the total victory of the SDF, unlike Kotch, who is shown to be a coward who would prefer to blow up his own ship rather than fight with his own soldiers and sees them as expendable.

Trivia[]

  • Coincidentally, his voice actor Jim Pirri also voiced Near Pure Good Alador Blight from The Owl House.
